At Heartsong Animal Rescue, our services for rehabilitation are centered on homeopathic wellness, excellent veterinary care, and behavior modification and training. We work with animals who have been neglected, abused, are injured, aged, and/or have behavioral problems. The rescues we take in are tested and treated for injuries and illnesses prior to being placed in new homes. They are also vaccinated and altered. We work very hard to litter train, housebreak, and otherwise socialize the animals so when they enter their new home, they do so confidently and with as little trauma as possible. We are not your run of the mill shelter. We believe in readying the animal for its new environment and therefore some of the animals are with us for an extended period. Donations allow us to continue the good work we do, and allow us to maintain the quality of care and rehabilitation these animals deserve.
Our purpose is to help find neglected and orphaned animals loving homes. We work with the Murray-Calloway County Animal Shelter, along with other local volunteers to help foster out these animals and find them good homes. All of our animal rescues come from the Murray-Calloway County animal shelter or near by kill shelters. We rescue the animal the day that they are going to euthanize it, get it up to date on all shots, wormed, tested, and spayed/neutered and try to find it a loving home. Sometimes they just need a little more time.

An incorporated, not-for-profit Pet Adoption Facility and Education Center. Our mission is to rescue dogs from euthanasia at local animal control shelters. When entering the shelter, we first meet the dogs who have a “death date.” If we believe we can find the dog a good home, we pull the dog into our organization. We provide our dogs food, housing, love, attention and any necessary rehabilitation. Our dogs receive full veterinarian care and are spay/neutered Meanwhile, we work to find these orphaned dogs a loving, permanent home. We also work directly with individuals who have specific qualifications they are seeking in an animal companion. As we go into local animal control shelters, we look for a dog who has these characteristics and we also contact other rescue groups.
