| Established in 1994, the Raccoon Valley Humane Society recently earned the reputation as Central Iowa’s Premier no-kill shelter primarily because of its exceptional animal care and fierce commitment to uphold their policy, “No one dies to make room.” Although constantly struggling through a series of never ending financial challenges, RVHS does not accept local or state government subsidies, but exists on donations supplied by generous individuals sympathetic to the RVHS no-kill philosophy. Working with numerous rescue organizations, Raccoon Valley Humane Society is accredited with saving over 700 companion animals during calendar year 2004 by enriching the lives of countless families through a comprehensive adoption and spay & neuter program. As a result of their thorough screening of prospective adopters and careful animal profiling, the RVHS adoption return rate has fallen to less than 1% of total annual adoptions. Having outgrown its current facility, RVHS is now poised to begin moving forward toward a new chapter in its development by building a new generation animal shelter in Dallas County. | The Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline, Inc. (ARPH) is a not-for-profit organization comprised of volunteers who are dedicated to the Australian Shepherd breed. ARPH's mission is to rescue Australian Shepherds and place them into loving, caring, and permanent homes, and to educate the public about all aspects of owning an Australian Shepherd. ARPH's rescue efforts are supported largely by donations from those who love the breed, including donations from the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA), its Affiliate Clubs, and other Australian Shepherd groups and organizations. |

| United Yorkie Rescue, Inc. was founded on August 5, 2002, by a group of loyal and hard-working rescue friends. We consolidated our efforts and talents to form a family dedicated to the rescue and well being of the Yorkshire Terrier. We have pledged to rescue all Yorkies and Yorkie mixes in need regardless of size, age, or health condition. In addition, we are devoted to providing love, nourishment, rehabilitation, socialization, and "pawesome" forever homes!! |
